Linkwood distillery has long been famed for the quality of its matured spirit, especially that which is left undisturbed for decades. Linkwood distillery itself is old as the hills, and produces a remarkably elegant spirit in large, swan-necked stills. This single Sherry hogshead produced only 190 bottles after almost 50 years of gentle ageing. This Linkwood remains remarkably subtle and graceful, with a nose of vanilla, sweet treacle and Medjool dates.
TASTING NOTESNose: Rich vanilla aromas complement sweet treacle and Medjool dates. Mike chocolate notes develop alongside festive spice.
Palate: Smooth and creamy flavours of stewed apples lead to soft citrus zest. Subtle cracked black pepper gives way to sultanas and toasted almonds.
Finish: A long and full finish of delicate spice.
