Tomatin Cu Bocan Signature 700ml
Behind the striking packaging and Scots-Gaelic name is a wonderful bit of folklore. The expression takes its name from a legend local to the village of Tomatin, of a ghostly hound who would stalk the streets and moors of the Highland town. Once, a distillery worker reached out his hand to stroke the dog’s fur, after feeling a strange compulsion to do so, the dog disappeared into a wisp of smoke that blanketed over the highland heaths.
Feeling scared? After a story like that, one requires a restorative. Luckily this whisky is just the thing, and not frightful in the slightest. Lightly peated to 15ppm, there is more than a wisp of smoke in the bottle, accompanying notes of vanilla, toffee and dried fruit. The whisky is matured in a mixture of bourbon, virgin oak and sherry casks. A ghostly dram for the fearless drinker!
