Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon Mâcon-Bussières Le Monsard 2020 is an outstanding Chardonnay from the Mâconnais, produced by the domaine founded by legendary Burgundy winemaker Dominique Lafon of Domaine des Comtes Lafon.

Made from 100% Chardonnay, Le Monsard comes from a small 0.74-hectare single vineyard in the village of Bussières. The site features thin clay soils over white marl and limestone, with geology similar to nearby Pouilly-Fuissé, giving the wine impressive freshness, tension and mineral character.

The 2020 vintage opens with expressive aromas of ripe apple, pear and fresh melon, complemented by white flowers and subtle stony notes. On the palate, it is supple and richly textured, combining generous orchard fruit with vibrant acidity and a distinctive chalky mineral backbone.

Despite its richness, the wine remains energetic and precise, with citrus and mineral notes bringing freshness through the mid-palate. The finish is long, focused and gently saline.

A beautifully balanced white Burgundy offering impressive depth, refinement and terroir expression for its Mâcon appellation.
