About Caol Ila

Caol Ila was founded in 1846 near Port Askaig on the north-east coast of Islay, overlooking the Sound of Islay. It is the largest distillery on Islay and is known for a fresh, elegant and smoky style that is also a key malt in Johnnie Walker blends.

The Caol Ila Range

Caol Ila 12 is fresh and smoky with citrus, sea salt and a light oily texture. The Distillers Edition is finished in Moscatel casks for sweetness, and the Unpeated releases show the distillery's fruity spirit without smoke. Independent bottlings offer single cask variations.
