Pauillac de Château Latour 2020 is the third wine of the legendary First Growth estate, crafted primarily from the younger vines of the property. First introduced in 1989, it offers an approachable yet authentic expression of Latour’s renowned Pauillac terroir. The 2020 vintage is composed of 53% Merlot, 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot, matured partly in new oak barrels. It reveals a deep garnet-purple hue and an aromatic bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry, and ripe plum, layered with notes of cedar, graphite, clove, and subtle earthy spice. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with a fine balance of freshness and depth. Silky yet firm tannins provide structure, while lively acidity carries the flavours into a long, mineral-driven finish with hints of dark chocolate and tobacco leaf. More generous and fruit-forward than Latour’s grand vin, it is designed to be enjoyed earlier, but still retains the precision, elegance, and Pauillac character that defines the estate. 

TASTING NOTE
Colour: Deep garnet-purple with youthful brightness.
Palate: Medium to full-bodied with generous dark fruit at the core. Silky yet firm tannins frame the wine, supported by lively acidity. Hints of tobacco, dark chocolate, and minerality add depth.
Finish:  Long, elegant, and savory, with lingering notes of cassis and graphite.
