Nanny Goat Vineyard Central Otago Crossbreed 2022 750ml

Showing good personality, the lively 2022 vintage (4*) is a blend of Gewürztraminer (46 per cent), Pinot Gris (41 per cent) and Riesling (13 per cent), grown at Queensberry and Gibbston. Co-fermented on skins and matured for two months in old French oak puncheons, it was designed as 'our way of blurring the lines between traditionnally accepted blends and varietal expressions'. A pale pink/slight orange wine, it is fresh and medium-bodied, with strong, peachy, spicy flavours, a distinct touch of tannin, and a crisp, dry (1.5 grams/litre of residual sugar) finish.

On the nose you are greeted by an appealing melange of powdered ginger, yellow rose petal, jasmine and freshly cut apple. The palate is crisp yet textural, with a core of juicy nashi pear and pink lady apple. A gentle whisp of tannin mid palate leads on to a fresh, satisfyingly dry finish.
