Old Particular Glen Moray  2003 18YO 700ml

Glen Moray, now owned by La Martiniquaise, makes vast quantities of spirit for various blended Scotch whiskies and its core single malt range in recent years has often featured various exotic wine or spirit cask finishes.

For those of us who wonder what a natural Glen Moray might taste like there aren't generally too many options, but here's Douglas Laing with this refill hogshead of Glen Moray 2003, bottled as an 18-year-old in 2021 for the Old Particular series at a tempting 48.4% without colouring or chill filtration and doubtless bursting with honeyed barley Speyside character. This should be delightful stuff.

TASTING NOTES
Nose: Rich, round and initially spiced with ongoing barley, flamed orange, light oak and sugar.
Palate: Typically intricate Speyside with honey, golden syrup, lime, malt, vanilla and cereal aplenty.

Finish: Shows loads of those same spices, with a barley quality and intensity all wrapped together.

Alc: 48.4%
