TASTING NOTES
This mahogany hued whisky has spent 10 years maturing in an ex-sherry refill butt, with this style of Caol Ila traditionally showing flavours of barbeque charred fruits (particularly citrus) and salty, smoky cured meats. The peat smoke is quite thick, with a note of burnt caramel and an over-cooked Christmas cake. Lingering damp peat or wood smoke smouldering in an open fireplace remains.
