Signatory Secret Orkney 2010 100 Poof 14yo 57.1% 700ml

The “Secret Orkney” moniker is a bit of a mystery in the whisky world. While it’s not officially a secret distillery, the identity of the specific distillery behind these releases is often kept undisclosed. However, many whisky enthusiasts strongly believe that the spirit behind these bottlings comes from Highland Park Distillery. Highland Park is a historic distillery located on the Orkney Islands, known for its distinctive peaty and maritime character. The distillery’s proximity to the sea and the use of locally sourced peated malt give its whiskies a unique flavour profile. The “Secret Orkney” bottlings often showcase the diversity of Highland Park’s spirit, highlighting different cask maturation styles and age statements. These releases are highly sought after by whisky collectors and enthusiasts due to their quality, rarity, and the intrigue surrounding their origin. While the mystery surrounding the “Secret Orkney” distillery adds to its allure, it’s widely accepted that Highland Park is likely the source of these exceptional single malt whiskies.

This single malt whisky was distilled in 2010 at an undisclosed distillery on Orkney. It was placed in 1st and 2nd fill Oloroso Sherry Butts and left to mature for no less than 14 years. In 2024 it was bottled at 57.1% alc/vol as part of the Signatory Vintage 100 Proof Collection.
