The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are grown exclusively on the Elderton Vineyard where very old deep alluvial soils over limestone provide a great growing environment. The majority of the Cabernet vines are aged between 35 and 50 years. The 1992 Vintage won the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy in 1993, and vintages since have won many international awards and accolades. The Elderton Estate Cabernet is a proven consistent performer.

Classy and full-bodied, this wine commands attention with its deep crimson hue and captivating aromatic profile. The nose is rich and expressive—dark chocolate, intense black forest fruits, and savoury dried herbs rise from the glass, promising depth and indulgence.
A rich and complex palate opening with black berry compote coupled with a dark chocolate note and hints of cedary oak to follow. The palate profile is long and powerful, with a seamless berry coated tannin profile to balance. The fruit intensity of this vintage delivers a vibrant freshness to finish.
Matured for 18 months in predominantly seasoned French oak puncheons, this wine shows harmony between fruit and oak, allowing the vineyard’s character to shine through.
