Château Latour is a name spoken with reverence — a First Growth that defines the essence of Pauillac: strength, structure, and silence stretched across time. With records dating back to the 14th century, and its iconic tower first mentioned in 1331, Latour is one of Bordeaux’s most enduring estates. Since its elevation in the 1855 Classification, it has remained a symbol of permanence — not only of rank, but of identity. Under the stewardship of François Pinault’s Artémis Domaines since 1993, the estate has quietly embraced modernity without ever compromising its uncompromising core.
Latour’s wine is an architecture of power — not loud, but immense. Cabernet Sauvignon offers graphite, blackcurrant, and formidable tannins; Merlot contributes shadowy depth and quiet richness. In its youth, the wine is tightly coiled — dark, mineral, commanding. With time, it becomes profound: iron, cedar, tobacco, wet earth, and crushed stone unfold with haunting resonance. The finish is not simply long; it is eternal — a slow, steady echo of place. What defines Château Latour is its singular philosophy: that wine is not made to impress in the moment, but to endure across decades. Since 2012, the estate has ceased en primeur sales of its grand vin, choosing instead to release only when vintages are ready to be understood.
