Saint Clair Marlborough Origin Pinot Gris Rosé 2020 750ml

This wine is made from a blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Malbec varieties. The fruit was machine harvested in the cool of the night in order to retain freshness and capture the fruit flavours. The grapes spent only a few hours on skins to extract the delicate flavour, aroma and colour and then carefully pressed. After settling the juice was fermented in 100 per cent stainless steel at cooler temperatures to retain fruit flavour and freshness. At the end of fermentation the wine was stabilised and carefully prepared for bottling.

Bright, pale salmon-pink, even colour throughout. The nose is full and generous, aromas of stonefruit, ripe pear melded with white florals. Medium-light bodied, dry to taste, brilliant, vibrant fruit of ripe, juicy pear, stonefruit with a floral backbone, subtle spices linger with acidity to a refreshing finish. The acidity is bright and soft, flows with good energy along a chalky phenolic line; subtle white spices lifted the finish. Match with prawn and pork summer rolls and cold smoked salmon over the next 2-3 years.
