Saitama Prefecture was a rice-producing area during the Edo period, with about 700 sake breweries.
From the 16th century to the 17th century, while the population did not change much, the area of ​​farmland nearly doubled.
Under such circumstances, in 1625, we started sake brewing in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, and in 1941, we moved our headquarters to Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture, which is blessed with underground water from the Akagi mountain range and has continued to this day.
In addition, in February 2021, the Hanyu Distillery, which distils its own malt whiskey, resumed operation.
