Brookfields Back Block Syrah 2022 750ml

The ‘Back Block’ vineyard is located at Ohiti Estate. While ‘backblock’ is a generic term - many people live in the back blocks (i.e. isolated hill country), and every farm has a back block. The ‘Back Block’ at Ohiti is exactly that, and is literally at the back, surrounded by hills on a shingle free draining terrace, facing to the northeast, thus ideal for growing and ripening Syrah grapes.

The ‘Back Block’ Syrah has proven to be an excellent food wine; hence it is served in restaurants in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Bold and elegant, the 2021 ‘Back Block’ Syrah has a mouthful of wild berries, dark plums, along with pepper, spice and succulent ripe tannins. The dark magenta colour immediately suggests it is from a very good vintage and the flavours are ripe. The ‘Back Block’ Syrah is one of Brookfield's most popular wines - do enjoy it! This 2021 ‘Back Block’ Syrah - another addition to the legacy.
