Does what it says on the tin! The legendary Islay malt from Douglas Laing. With its Islay character and a little sweetness, this small batch bottling is produced without colouring or chill-filtration and contains Islay Malt Whiskies from distilleries such as Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and even has whiskies included from the now closed and much sought-after Port Ellen distillery.
TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Warm slabs of tangy peat. Hints of chocolate, coffee and cedar with spices, walnuts and almonds. A touch of cinnamon with oily smoke.
Palate: Simple, easygoing, but delicious. Notes of heavy smoke, cut grass, peanut, spices and peat.
Finish: Quite abrupt with cut grass, coastal notes and smoke.
Alc: 46%
