In 2014, the Tormore distillery in Speyside released this 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky (as well as a 14-year-old expression). It's matured in bourbon barrels and bottled without chill-filtration. Rich with orange oil, golden barley and melon notes, the Tormore 16 is a great evening dram - exciting and well-balanced with an enjoyable intensity behind it. Tasting Notes Nose: Hobnob biscuits, vanilla essence, ripe pear and a good core of spiced oak. Palate: Cinnamon spice and pepper appear on palate entry, swiftly balanced with orange oil, juicy melon and a crunchy red apple. Finish: Warming and sweet with continuing notes of cinnamon and vanilla cream.
