The Hill-Smith family of Yalumba own Nautilus Estate in Marlborough and have instilled their famous culture of excellence. The wines are made by long-time winemaker Clive Jones, this Pinot Gris being a source of pride to Clive in his pursuit of Alsace like richness, purity, and texture with seductive dryness. Having tasted cellar stock of bottles up to 9-year-old of the Nautilus Pinot Gris, they showed the fabulous experience to be had if you’re prepared to age it a few years.
TASTING NOTES
Nautilus Pinot Gris is pale straw in colour, with vibrant aromas of fresh white peach, apricots, pears, and delicate hints of spice. The medium-bodied palate shows concentrated fruit flavours, bright acidity and a delicious dry finish.
