From the sub-zone of Milly where the wines tend to be very mineral and taut, this is Lafon's highest Mâcon vineyard at an altitude of 350 meters. Two-thirds aged and fermented in wooden foudres, the rest in tanks. The wines of Dominique Lafon are among the most highly sought-after wines in Burgundy by connoisseurs and collectors.
The 2020 Macon-Lilly-Lamartine Clos du Four was bottled just before the harvest. Lovely tangerine, citrus peel and pressed yellow flower scents on the nose, the palate opens nicely with impressive concentration, fine acidity and veins of stem ginger towards the persistent, muscat-tinged finish.
