The story of Poderi Aldo Conterno, one of the elite, historic Barolo producers, is a tale of great passion for winemaking that winds back across generations and crosses international borders. Aldo Conterno has been identified as one of the most excellent wine makers of Piedmont, and his wines distinguish themselves for simplicity and quality. His Nebbiolo wines remain firmly in the traditionalist camp. 

This “baby Barolo” is sourced from younger (max 15 years) vines. Skin contact is limited to 6-8 days to extract less tannin and more color from the skin, resulting in a well-colored wine with remarkable softness. There's power, grace, medium body, mouthwatering acidity, and fine silky tannins. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, oak, tobacco, leather, smoke, licorice, clove, and hints of anise stimulate the palate. Pairs with a wide variety of foods from roast chicken to pasta with red sauce to steak.
