Villa Maria's Seddon Vineyard is a special site-the Pinot Gris vines. The terraced vineyard has loam soils with distinctive clay 'papa-rock' base allowing optimum ripeness and concentration of the fruit. A single vineyard wine expressing the exceptional quality of this vineyard. 20% aged in seasoned oak barrels giving texture and aged 4 months on yeast lees adding irresistible richness.

Smells of the Pinot Gris is lovely honeysuckle florals, with pear, apple and lemon curd, a suggestion of ginger with further time in the glass.

The taste of the Pinot Gris is off dry in style, a core of rich fruit explodes in the mouth, with spices giving the appearance of apple pie and short bread. A serious style of Pinot Gris that will impress with its rich textural qualities and seductively long finish. A stunning experience now but it will impress further over the next 2-3 years. Serve with fresh asparagus and roasted chicken or pork belly.
