François Carillon Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Macherelles 2020 is a powerful and refined Premier Cru white Burgundy produced from 100% Chardonnay in the Côte de Beaune.

The Les Macherelles vineyard lies to the north of Chassagne-Montrachet, on the Puligny-Montrachet side of the village. Its clay-limestone terroir shares similarities with Les Perrières and produces a Chardonnay of impressive richness, structure and mineral character.

The 2020 vintage opens with ripe aromas of pear, apple and citrus, accompanied by subtle oak and delicate yellow-fruit notes. On the palate, it is concentrated and generously textured, combining pure white fruit with fresh lemon and lime, fine salinity and a firm mineral backbone.

There is notable power and depth through the mid-palate, yet the wine retains excellent freshness and precision. The finish is long and persistent, with lingering citrus, saline minerality and a touch of well-integrated oak.
