Johnnie Walker Blue Ghost & Rare Port Dundas 750ml

Whilst Jonnie Walker makes a number of different whiskies, it's their Blue Label which is the rarest. They class the Blue Label as their masterpiece, a combination of the rarest and most exceptional of Scotland's whiskies. With their Blue Label Ghost and Rare series, Johnnie Walker draws on casks which are from either closed distilleries or very rare casks.

The fifth edition in the series is their Ghost & Rare Port Dundas Whisky. This uses a core of rare single malts from the Port Dundas grain distillery in Glasgow. This distillery closed in 2010, after nearly 200 years of operation (having opened in 1811). This distillery was one of the world's most famous grain whisky distilleries and was considered a blending powerhouse. It produced whisky which was well known for its distinctive, sweet and fragrant character. Johnnie Walker's master blender (Dr Emma Walker), and hand-picked whiskies compliment and enhance the ghost distillery's character.

The finished blend has the creamy wood notes from Port Dundas which merge perfectly with vanilla and soft smoke from the “ghost” whiskies of Cambus and original stocks of Brora. Additional flavours come from other very rare whiskies from Cameronbridge and Glenkinchie which reveal notes of spiced apples. These then join alongside Clynelish, Dailuaine and Auchroisk, which bring aromas of peaches and berries.

Perfect Serve

As a rare bottle, we think this is perfect when enjoyed neat. However, it does open up a little with a splash of water or with ice - enjoy it however you like

Alc: 43.8%
