The Tempranillo comes from two vineyards: one on silty soil set next to the Tanunda golf course, the other in the richer clay and brown earth soils of Nuriootpa. The Grenache is from the famous sandy Vine Vale region and from the foothills at the top of Krondorf Road with up to 70+ years of vine age. It was picked later in February in order to give the ripe juicy fruit needed to flesh out the structure of Tempranillo’s complex and savoury fruit. Finally the Graciano is from recently planted vines in the limestone-rich soils of the northern Eden Valley.
