Marisco Vineyards The King's Favour Sauvignon Blanc 2019/22 750ml
Marisco Vineyards The King's Favour Sauvignon Blanc
In 1204, despite apparently using Lundy Island as a base for piracy against North Devon traders and along the English coast, one William de Marisco was strangely appointed to be in charge of a number of the Royal Galleys - whose very purpose was to defend against such piracy. William was also granted the Manor of Braunton (in Devon) by King John – both these factors were surprising evidence of the King’s Favour.
TASTING NOTE
A punchy nose featuring aromas of passionfruit, blackcurrant leaf and an underlying touch of nettle. The generous palate is textured with flavours of nectarine and elderflower while still carrying a herbaceous freshness. The wine finishes deliciously dry – a characteristic synonymous with Waihopai Valley acidity.
FOOD MATCHING
This bright, vibrant Sauvignon Blanc pairs wonderfully with seafood and salads.
Try King’s Favour Sauvignon Blanc with fish sliders and a fresh green salad.
ABV: 13%
