Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey 2024 Release is a limited-edition Kentucky whiskey from Michter’s prestigious Legacy Series, created in honour of John Shenk, who founded the historic distillery in Pennsylvania in 1753.

Made using the traditional sour mash process, the 2024 release contains a substantial amount of rye, including malted rye and caramel malt, creating a distinctive combination of creamy texture, herbaceous character and warming spice.

Part of the whiskey is matured using specially selected French oak from the Vosges region of France, naturally air-dried and seasoned for 24 months before being toasted to Michter’s specifications. This carefully selected oak adds further depth and complexity to the whiskey’s rye-forward character.

Dark amber in colour, the nose opens with crème brûlée and spice. The palate is rich and herbaceous, developing layers of spice, fruit and nougat, while the finish is exceptionally smooth and creamy.

A highly collectible annual release, Shenk’s Homestead 2024 is an excellent choice for fans of Michter’s and limited-release American whiskey.
