Teeling Brabazon Series 3 Irish Whiskey 700ml
Teeling Brabazon Series 3 Irish Whiskey 700ml
The third release of Irish distillery Teeling’s superb Brabazon series. The range takes its name from the Brabazon family of Anglo-Irish nobles, who owned the Liberties area of Dublin where the distillery is now based. Each of the bottlings in the Brabazon series has explored the effects of fortified wine on Teeling’s Irish single malt.
For this whisky, Teeling has partnered with the family-run bodega in Jerez that specialises in producing Pedro Ximenez sherry and has done for over 300 years. The PX sherry casks Teeling have used to mature their whisky have held sherry for up to 90 years. The whisky itself was distilled in 2005 and spent the last three years of its maturation in these PX sherry casks. In total, this spirit has been aged for 14 years.
The final result is a remarkably rich and fruity dram, that serves up notes of plums, figs, dark chocolate, butter, nutmeg, cloves, brown sugar, tea, raisins, toffee, cinnamon, oak, apples and grassy malt.
Alc: 49.5%
