Valli Waitaki Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022 is an elegant and highly distinctive single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the Waitaki Valley, North Otago. Waitaki's cool climate and limestone-influenced soils give this wine a noticeably more mineral, savoury and finely structured personality than the richer styles typically associated with Central Otago.

The 2022 displays a translucent garnet colour with lifted aromas of wild strawberry, pomegranate and pomelo, layered with wild thyme, cedar and gunflint. The palate introduces cardamom, allspice, damson plum, strawberry and tart cherry, supported by fine tannins and energetic acidity. A distinctive saline quality runs through the long, persistent finish. Valli considers the vintage capable of developing for 15+ years 

This is a particularly refined Pinot Noir: less about sheer fruit weight and more about perfume, minerality, freshness and savoury complexity.
