Extraordinary, exceptional, magnificent. The 12 year old is fantastic but this 14 year old is a quantum leap, a paradigm change.
I am no malt whisky expert but even my ruined taste buds got toffee, walnuts, almonds, and distinct "chocolate bourbon biscuits" together with Orkney oat cakes and something like a taste like heather smells. What most impressed me was character, combined with smoothness and no alcohol after burn on the back of the tongue.
Hamish from my local in Rolleston, New Zealand said this was worth every penny. So right.
I used to be a Macallan groupie but this is the best Speyside I have drunk.
Much better value then "perfect" Macallan.
Ultimately, it is the character.
As they say " Let the deed show".
