Chateau Musar Jeune Red 2021 750ml - Lebanon
Musar Jeune Red is an unoaked blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from youthful Bekaa Valley vines. Meant for current consumption – within a few years of the harvest – this deeply-coloured, vividly fruity style, first produced in 2007, may yet prove to be a ‘keeper’. Inky-dark, silky-textured and aromatic, with blackcurrant, raspberry and cherry jam flavours and a warm, spicy finish, it has been likened to a fine Roussillon red.
The 2021 vintage is a blend of Cinsault (50%), Syrah (35%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), selected from vineyards with varying ages of vines and soils. Of our reds this year, the Syrah was outstanding. “We’ve never before experienced a Syrah grape of such intensity and strength with an unforgettable imprint on the palate. Aromas of violet and mango were dominant through the fermentation process, this is a Syrah we won’t forget” Tarek Sakr November 2021.
Tasting Notes
Deep purple beetroot colour with a nose and palate of more red fruits than black; strawberries and cherries. Unoaked, with a savoury, earthy depth and a touch of spice and black pepper define the 2021 vintage. It is an elegant wine with layers of taste and lots of potential to age and develop from its’ release in 2023.
Alc: 13%
