-
Red cherry and cranberry — Lifted red berry aromas mingle with dried herbs, spice and earthy notes.
-
Soft, silky tannins — A juicy palate with savoury undertones makes it a versatile food wine.
-
Indigenous yeast fermentation — Matured for eight months in stainless steel tanks and seasoned French oak barriques.
The Edge Martinborough Pinot Noir 2023 offers an accessible introduction to Escarpment’s winemaking style. Light ruby in colour, it opens with red berry perfume, dried herbs and earthy spice. Red cherry and cranberry carry through a soft, juicy palate, with silky tannins and a savoury finish.
The fruit was gently destemmed and fermented with indigenous yeasts, spending an average of 20 days on skins. Eight months’ maturation in stainless steel and seasoned French oak followed, before bottling to preserve freshness.
Pair with barbecued lamb, roast chicken or mushroom pasta.
