Domaine Comte Georges De Vogue Chambolle Musigny 2021 750ml - France

Domaine Comte de Vogue is one of the oldest and greatest domaines of Burgundy, ranking up there with Leroy and Romanee Conti. Only a few can trace lineage back for more than 200 years but the Domaine Comte Georges de Vogue can go back to 1450. Highly regarded as the greatest estate in Chambolle Musigny, today the domaine is headed by its 20th generation – Claire de Causans and Marie de Ladoucette, the grand daughters of the late Comte Georges de Vogue.

94 Points - Burghound

"A perfumed and nicely spicy nose blends notes of red berries, plum and a touch of violet. The sleek, intense and well-detailed middleweight flavours exude a discreet bead of minerality on the refreshing, moderately austere and sufficiently firm finale to warrant up to a decade of keeping. This very pretty effort will likely be approachable after only 5 or so years of keeping. (Drink Staring 2029)"

91 Points - John Gilman

"Burghound Outstanding! I did not realize this previously, but the fine Chambolle villages bottling at Comte de Vogüé includes the domaine’s production from their small parcels in the fine premier crus of les Fuées and les Baudes, which together, comprise about ten percent of the blend."

The wine has turned out beautifully in 2021, offering up a bright and complex bouquet of red and black cherries, raw cocoa, chalky soil tones, a touch of mustard seed, woodsmoke and a discreet framing of vanillin oak.

On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, focused, and complex, with a good core, lovely balance and a long, soil-driven and bouncy finish that closes with moderate tannins and lovely grip.

Alc: 13%
