Woodhenge is a monument to “big” ideas and to Greg Trott’s unique vision of what makes Wirra Wirra special. It is also a bloody big fence that weighs about 10 tonnes! This wine is a tribute to the McLaren Vale region, the Shiraz grape and the foresight of Wirra Wirra’s founder who like Woodhenge, typifies the individuality of the region.

Wirra Wirra sources fruit from a combination of owned vineyards and premium McLaren Vale growers. The blend of individual vineyards and sub-regional characteristics is the key to the resulting style.

Intense plums and rich dark berry fruits fill Woodhenge’s palate and provide a wonderfully round silky texture. The fresh acid structure balances the generous and persistent fruit flavours and the spicy nutmeg and finely textured oak. Woodhenge offers great drinking now and for the first 10+ years of its life if cellared in appropriate conditions.

Bright raspberry freshness blends with the darker fruits, cacao and spice. The concentration of fruit combines with delicious, grainy tannins to give viscosity to this textured and brooding wine. With savoury notes and bright acidity, it is a mouthful that remains vibrant to the finish.
