PRODUCER:   Five generations and 167 years later Yalumba, Australia's oldest family owned winery, has grown in size and stature, embodying all that has made the Australian wine success story the envy of winemakers the world over.

WINEMAKING:   After a cool spring, December and most of January were cooler than average. This cool start was followed by a return to warmer conditions at the end of January. This warm weather continued into February and accelerated the ripening of the Viognier with the blocks being harvested earlier than previous years but with the lush varietal flavours that we love and which match so well with spicy foods.

TASTING NOTES:    Pale straw in colour, this Viognier has aromas of honeysuckle, candied ginger and pineapple that typify this exotic variety. The palate is rich in texture and body thanks to wild yeast fermentation and ageing on lees, yet retains a refreshing quality that make it a pleasure to drink.
