Ribera Del Duero Alion 2019 1.5L

The 2019 growing season was drier than average, leading to a powerful and concentrated wine. Maceration was shortened by 11 days, and part of the élevage was done in concrete to reduce the impact of oak. The wine underwent 12 months of ageing in French oak barrels (95%) and American oak barrels (5%).

Tasting Notes
Nose: It’s ripe, tarry plums and black cherries, complemented by notes of violets, rocks, coffee, and graphite. Refined hints of balsamic fruit and cocoa powder add complexity. 
Palate: Full-bodied and juicy, with an "iron fist" of tannins that is simultaneously velvety and polished. 
Finish: It is very long and focused, showcasing finesse and layers.

Food Pairings
Red Meats: Roast lamb, grilled steaks
Game: Venison, wild boar
Cheese: Aged Manchego, blue cheese

Aging Potential
Alión 2019 is suitable for drinking now but can be aged for up to 20 years if stored in ideal conditions (12-14°C and 60% relative humidity). The recommended drinking temperature is 18°C.
