Excellence in Rosé unveiled to the world. Cave Privée is a collection of exclusive Champagnes characterized by exceptional quality and considerable ageing potential and has been kept for decades in the heart of the gypsum cellars of the Maison Veuve Clicquot.
Cave Privée Rosé 1979 is a blend of 22 different Crus, all classified as Grands and Premiers Crus. It is a blend of 61% Pinot Noir, 6% Meunier and 33% Chardonnay. The addition of 19% red wine from Bouzy from our own production using grapes from our vines completed the blend.
Tasting Notes
The dress to the glass is reminiscent of a beautiful pink, warm and deep, with elegant coppery reflections. The olfactory bouquet is complex and refined, rich in scents reminiscent of dried cherry, apricot, toasted walnuts, bergamot and chamomile, as well as saffron and curry. The palate is savory and lively, discreet and delicate in the perlage, refined in consistency and excellent length.
