Ballechin 12YO SFTC Oloroso Sherry #346 500ml
Ballechin 12YO SFTC Oloroso Sherry #346 500ml
The new Ballechin Straight from the Cask 12 years spent its entire maturation time in an Oloroso sherry cask. Strong smoke aromas are the hallmark of the Ballechin Single Malt, sister whisky of the Edradour Single Malt from Andrew Symington’s distilleries. They are the result of the use of heavily peated malt, which shows a phenol content of at least 50 ppm. Due to the maturation in the Oloroso sherry cask, these smoke aromas merged with opulent notes of dark fruits and oak.
As a single cask edition of the SFTC (Straight from the Cask) Ballechin series, the single malt comes in a 0.5 liter bottle with the special wooden box that is typical for this series. The Highland single malt whisky was bottled without chill filtration and in its natural colour. Cask strength means for this bottling of cask no. 346 an alcohol content of 58.4% ABV.
The whisky is limited to 951 bottles. Distilled on October 23, 2009 and bottled on October 25, 2021, this 12-year-old bottling of the Ballechin Straight from the Cask from an Oloroso sherry cask is the older brother of a Ballechin SFTC bottling of spring 2021, the 10-year-old Ballechin SFTC Oloroso sherry cask from 2010.
Alc: 58.4%
