Catena Zapata Argentino Vineyard Malbec 2023 is an iconic expression of Argentine Malbec, crafted from historic vine selections grown in two of the Catena family's celebrated vineyards in Mendoza.

Made from 100% Malbec, the wine combines fruit from the Nicasia Vineyard in La Consulta, San Carlos, at 1,095 metres above sea level, and the Angélica Vineyard in Lunlunta, Maipú, at 920 metres. These old vine selections trace their origins to pre-phylloxera Malbec material preserved by the Catena family.

The 2023 vintage displays remarkable concentration and elegance, showcasing the depth, freshness and distinctive high-altitude character that have made Catena Zapata one of Argentina's most internationally recognised fine wine producers.

Tasting Notes

• Nose: Intense and aromatic, with ripe blackberry, blueberry, dark plum and violet, complemented by subtle notes of spice, herbs and minerality.
• Palate: Rich and concentrated, showing blackberry, plum and dark fruit, with hints of mocha, spice and earthy minerality. Fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity provide excellent balance and structure.
• Finish: Long, elegant and persistent, with lingering dark fruit, floral notes and a refined mineral character.
