Gekkeikan Nigori 300ml - Cloudy Sake
Nigori is a coarsely-filtered style of sake, left deliberately cloudy by allowing fine rice sediment to remain in the bottle rather than being filtered out. Gekkeikan's Nigori is a Specialty Junmai-shu, brewed from rice polished to a 78% ratio.
Nose: Earthy and sweet, gently acidic and rice-derived, with dairy-like aromas reminiscent of cream, yoghurt or a probiotic drink.
Palate: Sweet flavours of overripe banana, milk and cantaloupe, with a thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Finish: Slightly grainy, with a bold acidity that keeps it surprisingly crisp and refreshing.
Best served chilled or at room temperature — pairs well with fresh fruit, lightly sweetened desserts, rich meat dishes and spicy food.
