What a vintage, no significant rain from September onwards, nothing but sunny days. Good viticulture reigned supreme and the cooler part of Margaret River, as always, was the place to be. Our vines thrived under the clear skies, accelerating flavour development across all varietals. Sangiovese was this year’s dark horse, expect great intensity with delicious ripe tannin.

Winemaking

A field blend of 87% Sangiovese and 13% Cabernet, wild fermented and matured in old French oak for 6 months. No adds, bottled unfined.

Tasting Notes

In homage to the classics of Tuscany, this vino evokes the essence of Italy. Wild fermented Sangiovese with a splash of Cabernet, it is captivating and filled with charm. Crimson red in colour it oozes with scents of mulberries, plum, cherry blossom, and just a hint of spice. Deliciously light on its feet with bucket loads of fruit, the palate is driven by raspberry, mulberry and rhubarb. Defined by salivating, natural acidity and savoury Sangiovese tannins that give length, depth and lineage. Pure charisma and Italian style... Bella!
