Red Spot 15 Year Old is a premium Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey produced at Midleton Distillery and part of the historic Spot Whiskey range associated with Dublin wine merchants Mitchell & Son.
Triple distilled and matured for a minimum of 15 years, Red Spot uses a particularly interesting three-cask combination: American Bourbon casks, Spanish Oloroso Sherry butts and Sicilian Marsala wine casks. The Marsala influence adds a rich layer of ripe fruit and sweetness to the characteristic spice of Irish pot still whiskey.
The nose shows baked apple, mango and black cherry, alongside hazelnut, pot-still spice, leather and toasted American oak. The palate is rich and full-bodied, combining ripe fruit sweetness with red pepper, cracked black pepper, oak and barley. The finish is exceptionally long, with lingering fruit, spice and gentle oak.
