Rockford Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 750ml
Rockford is one of the Barossa Valley's genuine cult wineries — founded by Robert O'Callaghan and best known for championing the region's old-vine Shiraz, Rockford blends traditional winemaking craftsmanship with a distinctly hands-on, small-batch approach. The Rifle Range Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from historic vineyards along Rifle Range Road, land that has supplied grapes to the winery since it was founded, and named for the road's former life as a rifle range.
Hand-harvested and matured for two years in large, seasoned oak vats and hogsheads — a traditional approach that favours structure and restraint over heavy new-oak influence.
Nose: Blackcurrant, eucalyptus and spice, with subtle oak undertones.
Palate: Rich and full-bodied, with dark berry flavours of blackberry, plum and cherry alongside firm, structured tannins and balanced acidity. Rich, soft, full-bodied notes of plum, currant and chocolate, with hints of dried sage and verdant garden herbs.
Finish: Long and satisfying, with lingering spicy black pepper and a touch of oak.
