Scarabus Batch Strength by Hunter Laing 700ml

This is the first expression from the new 'Scarabus' range by independent bottler Hunter Laing. Launched at the Fèis Ìle 2019 at their newly opened Ardnahoe distillery, Scarabus is a mystery malt which showcases a traditional Islay whisky style of typical medicinal smoke balanced with rich, sweeter notes. It is named after farmland on Islay where once a Scarabuss Distillery operated for a short time between 1817-18.

TASTING NOTES: Aromas of Islay peat smoke and sea salt, followed by warming leather notes, stewed rhubarb and a wonderful vanilla sweetness on the palate, leading to a rich lingering finish.
